Greatest Life Accomplishment:

Getting accepted into a highly regarded engineering school while at the same time pursuing my cycling career full time.

How I got involved: I started cross-country skiing when my parents would take me up to the Sierras at about age 9. We would always cross-country ski when we went up to the mountains in the winter and never downhill ski, even though I begged my parents to go. I thought xc skiing was super boring at the time, so I would look for every little downhillI and kicker I could find. I drifted away from xc skiing in 8th grade when my parents finally gave into downhill skiing. I took up the snowboard and ditched the skinny skis. Last winter I got back into cross-country skiing as a way to cross train for cycling in the winter. I did my first races that winter and was hooked immediately.
Inspiration:

I play on an intramural softball team with my buddies at Cal Poly. I go fishing, backpacking, cycling, mountain biking, and you can see me on the streets roller skiing up highway 1 to Morro Bay. I love the journey and the adventure of a world of so many unknowns. I love learning something new everyday from my teachers and friends or just through pure curiosity. I like traveling into the unknown and returning with the tale of an epic journey.

Cause Related/Green Planet Efforts:
Riding my bike around town instead of driving.
